Sustainable Development (SD) is a phrase which we often hear today. Its birth is widely accepted as being the Brundtland Report of 1987 which defined sustainable development as. "Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."

This often used phrase appears in many areas of our daily life and it is generally used to indicate that there is a threat of sorts to something that we are about to do.
