The course if based on the ISO 19011 Guidelines for Quality and/or environmental Management System Auditing. These guidelines are equally applicable to auditing Safety Management Systems.

It covers the following topics:

• Interpreting the BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems Requirements
• Selecting and training auditors
• Setting up the audit programme
• Initiating and preparing for audits
• Carrying out audit reviews
• Presenting and reporting audit findings
• Corrective action and follow-up audits

Aim

As a result of attending you will:

• Gain an understanding of BS OHSAS 18001:2007
• Be able to plan and organise an audit using the latest techniques
• Be able to write a non-conformity report (NCR) based on objective evidence obtained during an audit

Audience

This course provides students with a working knowledge of the BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Standard along with the basic auditing skills needed to plan and conduct Internal Audits within their own organisation.
