GBP500k fines for data loss

Businesses found in breach of the Data Protection Act can now be fined £500,000, 100 times the previous maximum.� On 6^th April the

�powers of the Information Commissioner's Office were enhanced to enable it to tackle serious breaches, "likely to result in substantial damage or distress."
