| Whilst starting within the transportation industry, developed strong business experience within a variety of roles, focusing ultimately on Quality Control and Assurance. This was been supplemented through training and subsequent experience. Robert is a registered IRCA Auditor and has completed BOSIET training for working offshore, and will be the 27001:2005 specialist for QMI Scotland. On completion of an MSc in Supply Chain Management in 1997, Robert spent 10 years gaining experience in a number of roles within the Distillation/Spirits Industry before moving into the role of Quality Manager. For a period of 6 years, worked on a number of projects (improving quality levels, developing quality standards & setting up a new system for measurement and performance) as well ensuring business and legal compliance. This was followed in late 2006, by 18 months working within Governance and Compliance (Sarbanes Oxley) before spending a year auditing companywide management systems including Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment. Robert came to QMI in order to utilise this experience, and to date, has worked in a variety of fields, including Oil and Gas supply chain auditing and system development (via consultancy).
